Yes, you guessed it...another GREAT day! Pearson is SO ready for his mommy and daddy to hold him that he is showing improvement by the hour!!! They now have him on the lowest flow of oxygen on the ECMO that the doctor will take him, and now we are waiting for his heart to shift more to where it belongs, since it was moved to the far left side of his chest with the hernia. The doctor also wants to see his stomach start working properly before taking him off the ECMO, because he can't give him the medicine he needs to help keep him from going back on ECMO. However, it is completely normal for his stomach to be acting the way it is. After all, all of his abdominal organs were relocated and shifted just 3 days ago! The doctor continues to be VERY pleased with how he is responding after surgery and thinks he could possibly be off ECMO in a few days. I can't tell you what a relief this has been for Matt and I. Having to leave our little one every night is bad enough, but having to leave him knowing that he isn't doing well.... the feeling is like no other. We are so thankful for these last few wonderful days God has given us and our Little Miracle, and can't wait for many more of them! THANK YOU LORD!
We continue to see new followers and see more comments posted everyday, and we want you to know how much this means to us. The out pour of love and support literally brings tears to both of our eyes. We are forever GRATEFUL for all of you who are following our blog and praying for our family!
What a little miracle! I can't wait to meet him. Pearson is such a fighter. I think of you everyday and continue to pray for God's healing. May God bless you all.

I love reading these updates every morning! Pearson is awesome .... I love it! Many, many prayers for continued good days and that the heart moves back and stomach starts working soon. I remember it was several days after Dakota's surgery that she had a tiny little poop. I remember being so excited and proud. When Dr. Kays came to check on her, I exclaimed "She pooped!" He just said "Yay" in his dry way and laughed. I knew he was pleased though. I hope today is a wonderful, boring day!

Brandi & Matt,
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear that Pearson is doing well! GOD IS GREAT!!! I have been following your blog and I have to tell you it seems like Pearson is a very determined little man...Like his mama. I will not be surprised when he goes home and makes an awesome recovery, especially if he is anything like either one of you! I am so inspired by both of you and the way you put everything in the hands of God and trust fully on him. He hasn't let you down so far! :) It's all about faith. I will continue to pray for Pearson and the whole family as well. Love and miss you guys!!!!
I am so glad Pearson is improving at such a rapid rate. He will be in your arms in no time at all! He is an amazing gift from God!

ReplyDeleteOh so glad to hear good news...again. funny thing is Dr Kays did surgery on my camden just this morning. It is SO nice to be at a hospital where they "know" CDH! One nurse was talking about CDH and asking if we were always w Kays (which we were not, just started to see him) and she said they just did a repair the other day. I blurted out, "Aww...lil Pearson!" and she just looked at me all funny. LOL Of course she didnt say anything but I told her, a lot of us CDH moms just "know" each other thru blogs. haha! I cant wait until he is OFF the ECMO and I pray it is even earlier than they think. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to let you know that we are praying for your family and little Pearson! So glad to see great progress!!!!!!
